vPoint version 2.2.0.0 updates:
——————————————————————————————
1. vPoint2.2 Core:
a.Multi-iServer (iServer is the connection broker for Diana) function to achieve workload sharing and backup. This means one user can access his/her VMs in one vPoint system via different iServers. If the SQL database of iServer is installed in a third-party database server, the multiple iServers of a vPoint system can work as backup for each other. Currently, up to 4 iServer server can be deployed in one vPoint system.
By now, in the server group of vPoint2.2 environment, failure of any one of the servers will not affect the running of the rest servers. When the failed server come up again, it can be accepted automatically by the vPoint2.2 system.
b. “Random Security Key” connection authorization to avoid any possibility of vicious/unauthorized access2. New function module “iSupport”:
iSupport is the user support system designed for vPoint. By creating supporting user accounts in vPoint Web Console, one user can log on vPoint system from different networks by using one of these supporting accounts, to view the desktops of VMs, and can even interact in the VM with the Diana users who has log on the VM.
iSupport is a separate install package from vPoint. After installation, one iSupport user can set up connection to more than one iServer of vPoint systems.
a. To view small window of desktop of authorized VMs. The refreshing rate of this small window is 1 FPS.
b. Real-Time Remote interact of Desktop with Diana users. iSupport User can log on the VM of Diana user with interactive actions of desktop (same screen resolution of Diana user) and mouse.
c. If the iSupport User is using Diana logging on VM, he/she can interact with other Diana users with real-time audio talk and operations of mouse and desktop (Windows or Linux). In this way, iSupport Users can give support to Diana users with both audio talk and mouse/keyboard operation.
d. Security of Privacy Protection. Being an interactive supporting management software, iSupport ensures the Privacy Protection of VDI users. When an iSupport user is viewing a Diana user’s desktop, the viewing windows is a mini one that only enable the iSupport user to have rough idea of what the Diana user is doing, but without details of the contents as shown on the desktop. If the iSupport user is using the real-time interactive mode with Diana user, this connection between iSupport user and the Diana user’s VM desktop can only be effective same time when the Diana user has logged on the VM. When there is an iSupport user connection coming in, the Diana user will be notified by an Interactive Icon on his/her desktop, and he/she has the right to accept this incoming connection or not, by clicking on “accept” or “refuse”, or by key combination of Ctrl+Alt+End.
e. Desktop Recording. iSupport can record the mini viewing window of VM and the real-time interactive desktop. This recording can be saved and playback.3. New Function of Logging Time Control:
Each Diana user can be set up to have right to log on VM during the specified hours in a day or days in a week. It help to avoid unauthorized VM logging during no working or class times.
Exceptions settings are available for special Diana users.4. Refined USB Device Control:
For each Diana user account, the USB device can be set to allow or disallow a certain type. For example, user A can be set to allow USB flash drive and HID device, but disallow USB printers. User B can be set to allow printers, but disallow any other USB devices. -
